Children and Youth Ministries

How can we serve you?

No matter your age, there is a place for you at St. Christopher's.  Your children are welcome in all parts of our community and we want to work with you to help them grow on their spiritual path.  If you have any questions or wish to know about any specific events, please contact Minister of Youth and Children, Jaz Rylander.

Sunday School (ages 4-12)

We offer Christian education for children at 9:15 AM on Sundays.  The classes are biblically based and strive to provide children with creative and varied ways to grow closer to God. Sunday School meets regularly from September to May.

3rd Sundays are for Familes

Every third Sunday, there is an organized outreach and activity (including lunch) for the children, youth and their families.  We have made cookies for first responders, held a toy drive for Ronald McDonald house, decorated pumpkins, and visited CAP (Citizens for Animal Protection). Contact the church office for more information about upcoming activities.  And remember, it is EVERY 3rd Sunday.

Special Family Programs

Throughout the year, Children and Youth Ministries sponsors a variety of activities for the whole family.  These include:  Family Movie Nights, Trunk or Treat, Children's Advent Program, Christmas in the Park, Children's Lenten Program, Egg-stravaganza, Vacation Bible School and so much more...

Acolytes (ages 9 and up)

Beginning at age 9, children are invited to participate in our worship services as acolytes, serving at the altar in a way that enriches their worship experience and grows leadership skills. For more information, please speak to Candy Leskin, our Acolyte Master.

Diocesan Opportunities

We are so lucky to be in the Diocese of Texas where there are multiple opportunities offered for the children and youth of our community.  Camp Allen, C.U.S.E. (Cathedral Urban Service Experience), YES and Happening are just a few of the varied events that our group often participate in.  Scholarships are available for all these events.

Safeguarding God's Children

Safeguarding God's Children in a program offered by the Diocese of Texas that aims to prevent the abuse and exploitation of children.  All volunteers and staff for children and youth ministries are required to be trained and certified in the program.  For more information or to request training, please contact Jill Center.
